Not to be confused with the "People's Party of the Russian Federation" (NPRF), which existed in Russia from 1999 to 2001.

"People's Party of Russia" (NPR) - Russian center-left political party. It was founded on April 11, 2012. Journalists often refer to it as a 'spoiler party'.

History of creation
On May 28th, 2012, the "People's Party of Russia" was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Russia with Mr. Alexander Vasenin as the chairman of the Board.

The Chairman of the party Supreme Council is Mr. Stanislav Aranovich, the political consultant and Director of "Aranovich and Partners" PR Agency, Ltd KG, the President of the public organization "Investment Russia".

The party was created with the participation of the leader of "The Democratic Party of Russia" (DPR) and the Center for Political Technologies of Mr. Andrei Bogdanov. On July 18 it was announced at a joint press conference named "Coordinating Council - a technical coalition", where Mr. Bogdanov officially presented five new political parties established with his participation: the reestablished "The Democratic Party of Russia" and also "Citizens Union" led by Mr. Dimitri Popkov, "The Social Democratic Party of Russia" under the leadership of Mr. Victor Militarev, "The Communist Party of Social Justice" under the direction of Mr. Yuri Morozov, "The People's Party of the Russian Federation", led by Mr. Stanislav Aranovich. The party is a member of the "Coordinating Council - a technical coalition", initiated by the DPR leader Andrei Bogdanov.

The number of party members in 2012 is 500 people (the minimum required number of members for the registration of a political party after the amendment of the Federal Law FZ-95, dated 23 March 2012).

The Internet publication Lenta.ru stated that the same named party is a spoiler and a party business of its owners, the political consultants Bogdanov and Aranovich. The registered brand is put up for sale by them, as is also shown by the party program consisting of three general proposals, published on the website of the Ministry of Justice of Russia.

December 3, 2013, in connection with the events at Euromaidan, Mr. Stanislav Aranovich, leader of the party, made a statement that Russia was obliged within the CIS to take the initiative to provide support to the Government of Ukraine against the opposition, up to a military intervention, sending forces of the Russian Interior Ministry to help their Ukrainian colleagues.

Elections 2012
On October 14th, 2012, the party took part in the 3rd out of 6 regional legislative assemblies. According to the results, the party obtained no mandates: North Ossetia (448) - 0.20% votes, Penza region (2020) - 0.37% votes, Tver region (229) - 0.28% votes.

Elections 2013
July 10, 2013, in the elections for the State Parliament of Tolyatti, the center of Andrey Bogdanov filed documents for 7 parties, including the "National Party of Russia", on July 12 the city election commission refused to register all seven parties, but on July 24 the superior Samara Regional Electoral Commission reversed the decision of the local election commission and returned the parties for registration, which subsequently received 370 votes (0.23%).

June 20, 2013, in the elections for Mayor of Voronezh, the People's Party nominated the head of urban settlement of Semiluki - Nikolay Markov (1981) (previously a member of the Communist Party, also was elected with their support), subsequently garnered 7,198 votes (3.74%).

In the single day elections of September 8, 2013 the party put forward its candidates mainly on party lists, with an average turnout of 30-35% with the following results:

- Arkhangelskyi region, Arkhangelskyi region Council of Deputies 541 votes (0.22%), in the Arkhangelsk City Council received 116 votes (0.21%)
- Kemerovo region, the Council of People's Deputies of the Kemerovo region 930 votes (0.06%)
- Smolensk region, Smolensk Regional Council 664 votes (0.28%)
- Yakutia, the republic's parliament 1090 votes (0.39%), in the city council of Yakutia 112 votes (0.20%)
- Buryatia, republic parliament 703 votes (0.24%)
- Chechen Republic, the Parliament 163 votes (0.03%)

Elections 2016
In 2016, the NDP did not participate in the elections to the State Duma of the 7th convocation, the party did not have a representative in the regional or municipal parliament and was not exempt from collecting signatures. The party did not hold the collection of signatures for nomination.
